So, you decided to play a woodwind instrument, but maybe sometimes you doubt your ability to live up to the "finger agility" expectation that we require. Seriously, how on earth are you supposed to have absolutely perfect control over each of your fingers?!? You probably find yourself practicing into a rage while wondering why your fingers wont do what you want them to do, even after going over it a thousand times (literally). We need a way to not just practice, but IMPROVE.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE. I still have those moments, and so does every musician in the world. There are many ways to make finger independence easier, and here is a good place to start!
Finger exercises. Part strength-building, part brain game. Just...do it. Just watch, do, laugh at how funny you look while doing this., and begin reaping the benefits almost immediately. Your fingers will get stronger, more accustomed to contrary movements, and easier to control. This makes a great warm up to get your brain and fingers going before you practice, and a great way to pass time almost anywhere. I swear, you won't be able to NOT do this anytime you are bored. Trust me.
